Our Story
was founded by Michael Cromer in 2016 after his three young children implored him to live more sustainably and plastic-free. With over 20 years of experience in delivering thousands of retail displays for leading Australian businesses, Michael found himself rethinking sustainability at work...
Cardboard POS displays are recyclable, aren't they? After consulting with the waste management industry, Michael found that although temporary cardboard POS displays sound recyclable, they end up in landfill due to their common use of plastic clips, strips, toxic inks and polypropylene laminate.
It all started with a tiny plastic clipTo make a positive environmental change, Michael worked with Think's General Manager - Operations, Brett Dalley, to find a solution. A structural designer and print expert, Brett began with the tiny plastic clips that make it quick and easy to build POS towers in store.
The Think team invented the world's first repulpable EcoKlip™, and this small change alone is destined to save 216 million pieces of plastic clips going to Australian landfill over the next decade.
Small steps for big changeToday, every element of a Think Display tower is 100% recyclable, bearing an educational marque that makes it easy for retail stores and POS warehouses to act responsibly.
Recognising this is only the beginning of the journey, Think Display has invested in manufacturing in China to control production transparency and social impact better.
Committed to the long haulTo bring the industry along on the journey, Michael and Brett established the Sustainable Display Alliance. The Alliance aims to make 100% sustainable and recyclable displays the new norm by working together with global companies, organisations, manufacturers and individuals to set and continuously improve the Temporary POS Display Sustainability Standards.
